| Here are a couple
of the nice things people have said about my novels: Miss Dempsey's School for Gunslingers Education, Miss Dempsey believes, is the key to rehabilitating criminals. In particular, she takes this to mean her unique method of teaching at Miss Dempseys School for Gunslingers. But what self-respecting bad guy can take a town like Destiny seriously when the jail has only three walls? The little town seems to be a magnet for anyone and everyone whos on the wrong side of the law. Thimbleriggers use Destiny as a place to con the citizens and each other. Underhanded tonic sellers escalate their claims to the public from a universal tonic that will cure all ills to a powerful potion thats able to raise the dead. Destinys politicians, of course, run the crookedest elections in the Old West. Even the contest for Miss Dempseys firm but fair hand is as devious as a courtship can get. Parnhams fast-paced, humorous story about a deliciously criminal frontier community wont fail to delight. Shelley Mosley, Booklist The Legend of Shamus McGinty's Gold Randolph has had a pretty full life, protecting Fergal O'Brien (seller of the miraculous "Universal Remedy") from irate customers. However, his job is about to get a whole lot more complicated. When a dying Morgan Armstrong falls in with the ruthless Quinn Rogers and his band, he tells them that he will share the secret of the location of Shamus McGintys gold, but only if Quinn can cure him. Who can cure Morgan? Why, the man with the medicine that will cure anything! But what of the gold? There's a lot more here than meets the eye. This is a great story. I picked up this book on a lark, but frankly did not expect too much. However, Mr. Parnham (from Nottingham, England) weaves a wonderful story that keeps you guessing at all of the various interlocking mysteries. This is really a highly entertaining book that I would not hesitate to recommend, even to those who don't normally like cowboy stories. This is a great book! An Amazon reader |
